When it comes to the care of loved ones, we believe that it is important to have a range of services available.
When it comes to the care of loved ones, we believe that it is important to have a range of services available.
Adele Burgess was always going to work in the care sector. Her childhood, spent helping to care for people who had been given free respite care from her mum, Eileen, in their family home. Adele had inherited all of the characteristics of somebody who was born to give, from her mum, and this has proven to be the case ever since.
From an initial career start as a care and support worker, Adele quickly rose through the care ladder, occupying various responsible roles, all the way up to Care Manager.
Adele, with the help and support of her Husband Andrew, founded Excel Care Management services in 2009. This step forward in her career, was aligned with a vision of care provision, which focused all of its services on the amount of change, support and positive impact it could provide to every client. Her vision of care has enabled the company to steadily grow into a flourishing care organisation, proudly becoming part of the “Ethical Framework of Care” within the borough of Wigan.
Throughout the company’s existence, the term “above and beyond” has become a familiar and often used term to describe the giving aspect of the company, moulded in Adele’s image to provide services in line with client’s needs. It is a direct result of this giving attitude which instigated the formation of Excel Care Community Foundation.
The aim of this Charity is to raise funds through direct input from employees at Excel Care, our community, and our associated partner’s projects and fund raising ideas. All of the funds will be redirected throughout the Leigh Community and surrounding areas, offering much needed assistance to people directly, operating as a NON PROFIT organisation.
We accept nominations for help from anybody who may have a genuine concern, and reason for assistance being required for any vulnerable person. From a small offer of a food parcel, clothes or even companionship, right through to household furniture and fittings, we would like to do all we can to help in any way we can.
We feel, and know, that we do not need to offer large amounts of money to make differences to somebodies life. We can all make a difference by offering unwanted items, clothes, furniture and other items, which we can sell in the reception area of our offices on Bradshawgate in Leigh town centre. We have already placed furniture, donated by families from within and outside of our community into client’s homes, replacing worn out items or furnishing an unfurnished property.
This, alongside raffles and charity sporting activities and all other fund raising ideas (we are open to any suggestion) will enable us to affect lives in a simple but direct manner- sometimes it’s the small things that make all the difference.
We have already held community fun days, raffles and other fund raising events, brilliantly organised by members of the Excel Care Management care team, and we are actively seeking other volunteers who can really help us change people’s lives.
We welcome any donation, big or small, or offer of help, for us to expand our network. We have plans to offer training opportunities in the future, in our pop up shop, to enable people to gain confidence in a working environment, which in turn, will help them find full time employment. We also welcome any ideas from associated stakeholders, who we can collaborate with, to provide opportunities.
We are able to collect items that anybody would like to donate, and are always looking for ways we can access funding to help us achieve our goals of truly helping others in our communities. A donation could start with you offering an hour or two, of your time, as we want to be as holistic as possible with our goal. DIY SPECIALIST’S AND HOBBYISTS may be able to oversee craft workshops or projects, such as a House or Garden makeovers. We believe anything is possible in our quest to impact on communities.
Please make contact to find out how you can help, donate, volunteer, or find out about some of the things and work that we are doing.
Many thanks
Andrew Burgess
